There are a number of standard features that GM Homes provides in its quality homes that are considered superior when compared to those of the average builder.

Some of the superior products that come standard in a Gerald Mitchell built home are as follows:

Windows – GM Homes uses Jeld-Wen DF Windows supplied by Burnside Windows and Doors. These windows come with a life-time warranty on the hardware and the insulating unit. Jeld-Wen windows have a high reputation and come with an option to have low E argon glass installed in them. Low E means that there is a gas between the panels of glass to prevent temperature changes and heat loss.

Floor System – The floor system which we use standardly is the “Silent Floor System” by TrusJoist. The main advantages of this floor system is that it is double the strength of a 2x10 floor system which allows for longer spans, which can accommodate a more open concept within your home. As well, the silent floor system has less chance of squeaks.

Roof Trusses Systems – Our roof trusses are supplied by Barrett Lumber Company. All of the trusses we use come with standard raised heels on the ends of each truss. The benefits of a raised heel truss are that it allows for more insulation and creates better circulation of air throughout the home.

Interior Trim – GM Homes uses an upgraded trim package supplied by EZ Wood Products. Our standard trim comes with headers over all doors. There is a large variety of wider trims that you can choose from as well as a selection of several different door designs.

Fireplaces – GM Homes uses a contractors fireplace supplied by Ultimate Home Comfort. These fireplaces are very high quality and have a reputation that we stand behind. Our fireplaces also come with a hand crafted mantle, which are designed by head finishing carpenter Brian McKillop.

Interior Steps – Hardwood Steps are installed by GM Homes in practically very house that we build. All interior hardwood steps are installed by our interior expert Brian McKillop. Hardwood steps are preferred by most customers especially due to the fact that they can be stained to match a variety of different floor colors.
